Our high retention rate of staff means we have guides who have been with the company since the 90's, lending a collective 100+ years of guiding experience to MDA. This experience coupled with our strong themes of Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga and Kaitiakitanga have seen MDA maintain long lasting relationships with schools  that  started in 1989, a testament to the care and attention our crew show our manuhiri (visitors) when they come to our little corner of the planet.

Being a multi-sport company, our expertise in-house rivals most organisations in the country. With national assessors in rafting, mountain biking, kayaking and rock climbing available within MDA, it is no wonder we have been the company of choice for three decades. From New Zealand representatives in rafting, kayaking and mountain biking, to waterpolo, fin-swimming and athletics, our guide roster is a force to be reckoned with. 

It doesn't just end with sports though, with guides who call the various marae we work on home, we have access and the blessing of our Iwi (tribes) to bring our visitors to our spiritual homelands for the purpose of wānanga (learning).  This privilege is not common and extends past being an asset for the company, and instead becomes a guardianship role that we take seriously to ensure that the upmost care is taken in passing on our history in culturally sensitive and appropriate way.

The MDA Crew are the engine that keeps the machine moving, and our visitors are our life blood that we care for and honour while under our watch. Our team will do everything they reasonably can to ensure safety, education and fun are the highest priorities on all of our journeys.
